Used to be known as Kolachi, this heart of Pakistan is best visited from November until February each year when the weather is not too hot. Go shop at Saddar or the Empress market, and soon you will discover many other bazaars and hot stalls along the streets. The city mosque, Masjid-e Tooba is the largest single-doomed mosque in the world and from there, people ride camels to go to the Clifton beach.
Wondering where to eat? Find cool restaurants at Boat Basin and sit on high cliff tops to watch over the sparkling view of the Arabian sea. Known as the City of Lights, Karachi truly proves to be uniquely splendid and wonderful. Some prominent tourist hot spots not to be missed include the Mohatta Palace, Frere Hall, Towers of Silence and the Holy Trinity cathedral.
